Mixed Media artist Mark Davies has 26 Galleries in the UK and 2 in the USA. When Retro by Ronnie 1st opened, I displayed my own Mark Davies Art pieces in areas of the store as they were super cool, incredible and beautiful at the same time. Some of our very first sales were of my art, which was not even supposed to be for sale! After the immediate hit of Mark’s work, we decided to reach out to him and request to be an affiliated gallery to which Mark and Steffi (his business partner) said yes. I couldn’t have been more pleased, with a fist pump in the air I went to tell the team. We have now sold more than 200 pieces of Marks Art.
Mark’s work is so limited in numbers, unlike some artists where Limited Edition runs can be as much as 200. Marks are limited to 10, 25 & 45. This means, that with currently 28 Galleries, there is never enough for each Gallery to ever have 2, and in many cases even 1! In my opinion, Marks’s success (apart from mind-blowing art) is the smaller numbers with a huge range of artwork available meaning there is a piece for everyone. A perfect match for our store. At any one time, we will always be showcasing between 55 and 85 pieces that are available to take away today. Prices vary from £365 upwards.

Embellishments add a real touch of class bringing each piece alive. This is where Mark will lay each piece down in his studio while carefully placing Micro Glitter across certain areas of each piece. This is called ‘Hand Embellished’. As this can only be done by hand, ultimately each piece becomes an original in its own right as it’s like you and I, very carefully throwing a deck of cards in the air. Near impossible to do it the same twice.
Mixed Media British Artist Mark Davies was born in Bedfordshire in 1978 and studied Fine Art within the region with his early works being inspired by the compositional qualities of Piero Della Francesca and Giuseppe Arcimboldo whilst finding inspiration in the surrealism of Salvador Dali.
Now living in St Neots Mark works full-time as a professional artist from his beautiful converted brick barn studio within the Cambridgeshire countryside.
A growing international collector base has seen well more than one hundred original works sold, making him a respected and successful artist within the contemporary art world.
